Things go boom.
Is it slanderous to call something a 'fucking joke'?

Has anybody else seen ONE WAY?
It's a free "music" magazine that has apparently been around for ten whole issues and seems to be funded directly by the free disc of crappy music that comes with it (the August/September issue has a new Richard "an American master" Marx song on it!) and major labels buying ads to get reviews.

Sample review excerpts:

"Move over John Mayer. You too, Jack Johnson. There's a new lyrical lad in town." [ed.: Good, now can we round them all up and kill them?]

"Why should I be recommending an album of Cole Porter songs in a pop music publication?" [ed.: I don't know, 'cause Cole Porter wrote some of the best pop songs ever?]

Oh, and apparently the Mooney Suzuki is a "rising star." Shouldn't that have been in a 2002 issue? Oh, but they're working with the Matrix. We all know what that did for Liz Phair. Methinks the Suzuki's chance to rise has come and gone.

[ed.: Hey, have you heard of that new band the White Stripes?! I bet they're going to be rising stars next month.]

<WHAT OUR FAIR READERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT

The problem with One Way is that it gives one such hopes upon first impression: "Oh look! Neat free music magazine! L.A. is improving!"

But alas, nope.
